FAQs

These Frequently Asked Questions are provided for your convenience. If your question is not on this list and your are unable to find the answer elsewhere on our website, please contact the church office and we will be happy to assist you.

Become a Member

New member classes are held in the spring and fall. Class sessions meet on Sunday mornings 9:30-10:30 am.

If you are interested in becoming a member of our community, contact one of the pastors or church office.

Make Arrangements for Baptism / Wedding / Funeral

Baptisms

“In holy baptism the triune God delivers us from the forces of evil, puts our sinful self to death, gives us new birth, adopts us as children, and makes us members of the body of Christ, the church.” (Evangelical Luther Worship)

Baptisms are scheduled throughout the year. Contact the church office to find the next date and to give the office the needed information. You will also be informed of the Parent’s Sessions that are scheduled through the year for parents preparing to have their child baptized.

Please feel free to contact one of the pastors if you have any questions or concerns. We are eager to be of help as you plan for this important event.

Funerals

Contact the church office to inform our pastoral staff of your loss.

A pastor will contact you immediately and will meet with you and your family to assist with details and preparations for the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements typically take two to three days.

Forms are available in the church office to make “pre-arrangements” with the church.

Weddings

CONGRATULATIONS! We celebrate with you as you plan your wedding with us at Trinity and begin a new chapter in your life together!

Before you make any other plans, it is important that you contact a pastor to schedule the date and time for your wedding. Once the wedding date and time is determined you will schedule meetings with the pastor and Trinity’s Wedding Coordinator.

Make a Memorial Donation or Endowment

Memorial gifts are a treasured way to remember or honor a loved one, with the full amount available to be used as per needs or requests.

Endowment funds are intended to extend the ministry and outreach of the church, through bequests, charitable gifts, wills, or other planned giving, with only interest from the principle being used.

NOTE: Make checks payable to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Trinity’s Special Gifts Committee is available to share more information with you. They can be contacted by calling the church office at 724-537-4450.

Sponsor Flowers or Broadcasts

Sponsor Flowers

Altar flowers, flowers at the font, and radio broadcasts make fine gifts to remember or honor a loved one.

Members may order flowers from the florist of choice. There is a flower chart posted in the narthex for you to sign. Sunday or Wedding flowers may be left on the altar for weekday services or may be taken by the donors following the 10:45 a.m. service. (Please do NOT take the vase liners!) Flower costs are paid directly to the florist.

Sponsor Broadcasts

There is also a broadcast chart in the narthex to sign. Broadcasts are paid to the church. (Full hour & 1/2 hour broadcasts may be given). An envelope can be placed in the offering plate or in the church office specifically designated for a broadcast. Donors should contact the office with the wording for the church bulletin.

Room Scheduling and Rental

Trinity is pleased to make available its facilities for use to members and non-members. Scheduling is done through the church office. Please note the following guidelines for using our facilities:

  • No tape may be attached to painted surfaces, and the room must be returned to its original condition.
  • A building attendant must be present during off hours for personal events and is paid by the user at a rate of $10.00 per hour.
  • If the air conditioner is used, we ask that you contribute $10.00 per hour for the large hall.
  • Church facilities may not be used for personal fundraising events or by for-profit organizations.

Facility Use Applications are available from the church office or you may download the Facility Use Application (PDF format).
